| | Al-Baqarah | Pre Ayat ← 207 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 25. The Pilgrimage | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:On the other side, there is another type of man who devotes his whole life to please Allah, and Allah is gracious to such of His servants. |
| | Al-Baqarah | Pre Ayat ← 265 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 36. Spending Money in the Cause of Truth | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:In contrast to them, the charity of those, who expend their wealth sincerely with the sole desire of pleasing Allah, may be likened to a garden on a plateau. If heavy rain falls, it yields its produce twofold: and even if there is no heavy rain but only a light shower, that too, is sufficient for it: whatever you do is in the sight of Allah. |
| | An-Nisa | Pre Ayat ← 43 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 7. Purification of the Soul | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:O Believers, do not offer the Prayer while you are intoxicated,65 for Prayer should be offered only when you know what you are saying. Likewise, do not offer the Prayer if you are "unclean" until you take your bath, except when passing on the way: and if you are sick or on a journey or if any one of you has relieved himself or you have touched women and can find no water, then cleanse yourselves with pure dust by rubbing it on your face and hands; no doubt Allah is Lenient and Forgiving. |
| | An-Nisa | Pre Ayat ← 102 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 15. Prayer when Fighting | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:And when you, O Prophet, are among the Muslims and are going to lead them in Salat (in a state of war), let a party of them stand behind you, carrying their weapons with them. When they have made their prostrations, they should fall back and let another party of them, who have not yet offered the Salat, say it with you and they, too, should be on their guard and keep their weapons with them. For the disbelievers are always on the look-out for a chance to find you neglectful of your weapons and your baggage so that they may swoop down upon you with a surprise attack. If, however, you feel some inconvenience on account of rain, or if you are ill, there is no harm if you put aside your weapons, but you should still be on your guard. Rest assured that Allah has prepared a disgraceful torment for the disbelievers. |
| | An-Nisa | Pre Ayat ← 114 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 17. Secret Counsels of the Hypocrites | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:There is nothing good in most of the secret counsels of the people: it is, however, a good thing if one secretly enjoins charity or righteousness or says something in order to set aright the affairs of the people; We will give a great reward to him who does so to please Allah. |
| | Al-Maidah | Pre Ayat ← 6 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 2. Duty of Uprightness | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:O Believers, when you rise to offer the Salat, you must wash your faces and hands and arms up to the elbows and wipe your heads with wet hands and wash your feet up to the ankles; and if you have become unclean, cleanse yourselves with a full bath; if, however, you are sick or are on a journey, or if any of you has relieved himself or if you have "touched" women and you can find no water, then cleanse yourselves with pure dust: strike your palms on it and wipe your hands and faces with it. Allah does not will to make life hard for you, but He wills to purify you and complete His blessing upon you so that you may show gratitude. |
| | At-Tauba | Pre Ayat ← 91 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 12. The Hypocrites | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:There is no harm if the weak, the sick and those that have no means of providing for Jihad stay behind, provided they are sincerely faithful to Allah and His Messenger.92 There is no cause of blame against such righteous people: and Allah is Forgiving and Compassionate. |
| | Hud | Pre Ayat ← 76 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 7. Abraham and Lot | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:(At last Our angels said to him), "O Abraham, desist from this now that your Lords decree has been issued and the scourge which cannot be averted by anyone shall overtake them." |
| | Maryam | Pre Ayat ← 55 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 4. Other Prophets are raised | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:He enjoined his people to offer Salat and give Zakat, and his Lord was well pleased with him. |
| | Al-Mumtahinah | Pre Ayat ← 1 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 1. Friendly Relations with Enemies | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:O you who have believed, if you have come out (from your homes and emigrated) in order to fight in My way and to seek My goodwill, then do not make friends with My enemies and your enemies. You show them friendship even though they have refused to believe in the Truth that has come to you, while they drive out the Messenger and you away only because you believe in Allah, your Lord. You send them friendly messages secretly, whereas I know full well whatever you do secretly and whatever you do openly. Whoever from among you does so, has indeed gone astray from the right way. |
| | At-Tahrem | Pre Ayat ← 1 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 1. Prophets Domestic Relations | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:O Prophet, why do you make unlawful that which Allah has permitted for you? (Is it because) you seek the good-will of your wives? Allah is All-Forgiving All Merciful. |
| | Al-Muzzammil | Pre Ayat ← 20 | → Next Ayat | Pre Ruku ← | | 2. Prayer enjoined on Muslims | | → Next Ruku| |
Translation:O Prophet, your Lord knows that you sometimes stand in the Prayer nearly two-thirds of the night and sometimes half the night, and sometimes one-third of the night, and so does a group of your Companions. Allah alone keeps an account of the time of the day and night. He knows that you cannot compute the time precisely; so He has shown kindness to you. Now you may read as much of the Qur\'an as you easily can. He knows that there will be sick men among you, and some others who travel to seek Allah\'s bounty and yet others who fight in Allah\'s Way. Therefore, read as much of the Qur\'an as you may do with ease. Establish the salat and pay the zakat, and give to Allah a goodly loan. Whatever good you may send forward for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah. That is best and richest in reward. Seek forgiveness from Allah: indeed Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful. |
